Increasing electric vehicle charging points and improving cycling lanes are all part of a city's new clean air plan.

Better walking lanes, public transport and discouraging lorries in parts of Worcester are also measures included in the new five year plan.

Zoe Cookson, chair of the city council's environment committee, said it was important to minimise the impact poor air quality can have on the wider public. The proposals follow a seven week public consultation held earlier this year.

City councillors will be asked to approve the plan next week.

The council's previous action plan was in 2013 and saw the building of the Kepax pedestrian bridge and ten air quality sensors installed in the city.
