Christmas event 'bigger and better than ever'
A gingerbread trail, craft fair and Christmas lights switch-on will mark the start of the festive season in Grantham.
The event will take place in the town centre from 11:00 to 17:00 GMT on Sunday , with the lights switched on at 16:30.
South Kesteven District Council (SKDC) has funded and organised the event.
The authority's deputy leader Paul Stokes said: “This year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, following last year’s success in the snow."
The free gingerbread trail will see 16 colourful, wooden characters, decorated by schoolchildren and community groups, on display in shops and businesses.
There will be more than 35 stalls in the craft market, a Santa’s grotto and vintage fire engines nearby.
There will also be the chance to join a pop-up community choir. Anyone who would like to perform should meet at the George Shopping Centre just before 13:00.
After rehearsals, the choir will perform live on stage at 14:10.
Wide Westgate will also be transformed into a traditional fun fair with rides and carnival favourites.
There is free parking in SKDC car parks on the day. More information can be found here.
