The school continuing an explosive heritage

Once under threat from legislation and religious suspicion, Spain’s 'correfoc' festivals have been bringing spectacular displays to the streets of Mallorca for decades.

The tradition has its roots in medieval street theatre and folklore and is a celebration of fire and 'good' versus 'evil'.

To help keep this tradition alive, a training school for willing participants is teaching the skills needed to become a fully-fledged 'demon'.
