Nushu: The secret Chinese language men don't know

400 years ago, women in China's Hunan province had their feet bound and were confined to their chamber rooms. To find a way to cope, they invented Nushu, a secret language men could not understand.

We speak with director Violet du Feng about Nushu, which is the subject of her new documentary Hidden Letters, and discover how women today are finding inspiration in the language.
