Exploring nature 'like Minecraft in real life'
Children at a primary school are being taught how to connect with nature.
Since April last year, the North York Moors Trust has been delivering sessions at Grangetown Primary School in Middlesbrough to nurture the children's relationship with the outdoors.
The charity said pupils in early sessions compared outdoor creative activity to the popular video game Minecraft, something the team used to make the project accessible.
Deputy head Steven Jackson said the school, which is in a deprived area, had seen "a dip in communication", partly due to excessive screen-time, and that spending time outside together boosted their team working skills.
