Foal of endangered zebra species filmed playing

Video showed a baby zebra born as part of a conservation programme running around its paddock.

The unnamed Grevy's foal, the most endangered species of zebra, was born at Whipsnade Zoo in Bedfordshire in May.

The animal and its two-year-old brother Zinabi are seen playing during the recent hot weather, something the species is well adapted to, originating in the arid grasslands of Ethiopia and Kenya.

Whipsnade says there are just 2,000 Grevy's zebras left in the wild, having been hunted for their skins in previous decades.
