Video shows heyday of now-closed historic cinema

Archive footage from 1986 shows celebrities touring the UK's first multiplex cinema, which is now earmarked for demolition.

BBC film critic Barry Norman is seen taking a look around the Point in Milton Keynes, introducing it as a place that "could mark the way ahead for the survival of cinema in Britain".

It featured 10 screens and was housed in a building that also included a discotheque and restaurants.

The cinema showed its last film in 2015, and developers have won an appeal to proceed with previously rejected plans to knock it down and build flats on the site.
