Franciscan brother on dedicating his life to others
A Franciscan brother who belongs to the Society of Saint Francis has spoken about why he chose to dedicate his life to help others.
Brother Benedict, who is currently at Alnmouth Friary, joined the Franciscan community in the 1970s and has told the BBC about his journey with the religious order.
"We don't live for ourselves, that's not the reason that we've been put on this earth," he said.
Benedict, who is originally from Birmingham, was inspired to follow the Franciscan lifestyle and give up his degree in Law after visiting the Brothers and witnessing how they help their community.
