Christine Emmerson family tribute as murder accused appears in court
A family has paid tribute to a "devoted" Lincolnshire grandmother as a man accused of stabbing her to death appeared in court.
Christine Emmerson, 71, was found dead at a house in Kirk Close, West Ashby, near Horncastle, on Thursday.
Shaun Emmerson, 50, of Kirk Close, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Tuesday charged with her murder.
In a statement, Ms Emmerson's family said she was a "much-loved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister".
They added: "She will always be missed endlessly because of her unrivalled love and devotion to her loving family.
"Her beautiful smile will never be forgotten. She will always be in our hearts."
At his appearance in court, Mr Emmerson was remanded in custody and is due to enter a plea at the same court on 20 October.
A provisional trial date was set for 12 February 2024 and there was no application for bail.
