Plans for major roundabout scheme to be shared

Road users and residents are being urged to attend a public information event about plans for a major improvement scheme for the A46 Nettleham roundabout on the outskirts of Lincoln.
Lincolnshire County Council said the scheme included adding an extra lane to the roundabout, creating new entrance and exit lanes and building a bridge for pedestrians cyclists over the A15.
The event, which is being held at the the Old School Halls in Nettleham on 7 July, would offer an opportunity for members of the public to meet the project team and ask questions, a spokesperson said.
If approved, work is expected to start in spring next year, with a completion date of spring 2027.
Councillor Michael Cheyne, executive member for highways at the authority, said: "Since earlier this year, the highways team has been carrying out behind the scenes work – like feasibilities and design.
"We are now ready to share these plans."
Dame Andrea Jenkyns, the mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, added: "This new roundabout should help traffic flow and improve the safety at what is currently a very busy junction."
She said the project would be part-funded by the government "as part of our devolution deal".
