A 62-year-old man has died after a car and a van crashed in West Yorkshire.

Police said he was driving a maroon Skoda Octavia on the A660 near Pool-in-Wharfedale, Leeds, when it collided with a Ford Transit on Friday.

The crash resulted in only minor damage to the vehicles, officers said, however the Skoda driver was "taken ill" at the scene and later died in hospital.

It happened at about 15:10 BST between the A660 roundabout and Old Pool Bank, West Yorkshire Police said.

Both vehicles were travelling in the same direction when the crash took place.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant dashcam footage is asked to contact police.
