Two drivers injured after head-on car crash

Two people are in hospital after a collision between two cars driving in opposite directions.

West Yorkshire Police said the crash occurred between Old Pool Bank and the Otley Bypass near Leeds at 20:32 on Friday.

A grey Vauxhall Zafira, which was travelling towards Otley, and a blue BMW, which was travelling in the opposite direction, collided on the A660.

According to the police, the fire service removed the driver, a 42-year-old man from Rotherham, from the vehicle and he was later taken to hospital.

His injuries are considered serious but not life-threatening.

The driver of the BMW, a 34-year-old woman from Leeds, was also taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The road was closed from around 20:30 to 24:00 BST.
