Moment lorry rammed police car after £90k distillery heist

Footage released by police has shown a lorry chase spanning several counties after alcohol worth about £90,000 was stolen from a distillery.

Gin, rum and champagne was taken in a burglary at a firm in Wadebridge, Cornwall, on 8 September.

A short time later, an HGV was spotted on the M5 on cloned plates and was tracked on to the M42.

A police vehicle attempted to block the lorry, but the car was rammed, leaving an officer with severe bruising and whiplash, and the lorry hit another car, causing minor injuries to three people inside.

The vehicle was eventually stopped close to junction nine, for Curdworth, after tactical contact forced the lorry into the central reservation barrier, leaving another officer injured.

Driver Adam Leek, 40, from Birmingham, was jailed for five years and eight months and passenger Sam Hall, 29, for 31 months.

James Delaney, 37, Joshua Selvey, 23, and 32-year-old Reiss Crombie were also jailed for 33, 28 and 28 months respectively.
