Cyclist hit by Coventry driver sent spinning into air
The moment a cyclist was sent spinning into the air, after being hit by a driver who pulled out in front of her, has been released by police.
They said it was with the agreement of the victim to highlight the responsibility drivers have for more vulnerable road users.
The 71-year-old cyclist was left with a bleed on her brain, a broken shoulder and broken ankle, and spent five days in hospital, West Midlands Police said.
Motorist Thomas Freeman, 29, from Torrington Avenue in Coventry, was jailed for a year following the crash on Wildcroft Road at its junction with Brookside Avenue in the city on 6 May.
He admitted causing serious injury by careless driving and was also banned from driving for two years at Warwick Crown Court.
