Travel rules: Government scraps amber list and PCR tests for vaccinated

The government has outlined plans for a new travel system, which it says will be “easier, simpler and cheaper”.

For people who are fully vaccinated, pre-departure tests will be dropped and PCR tests on return will be replaced by lateral flow tests.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said the system will come into force in October and remain in place until it is reviewed in the new year.
