Attempted murder charge after machete attack

A teenager has been charged with attempted murder after a man was seriously hurt in a machete attack.
Officers were called to reports of a serious assault in William McKee Close in Binley, Coventry, shortly after 11:00 BST on 17 September.
After the attack, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his hand.
A 19-year-old man was charged with attempted murder and also with possession of a blade.
He was due to appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, the force said.
