A man has been jailed for arson following a fire at a derelict building in Stoke-on-Trent.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service were sent to the scene, between Ephraim Street and Paxton Street in Hanley, at about 06:00 BST on Tuesday.

Craig Dunlop, 41, of no fixed abode, was sentenced at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Thursday to four months in prison and a financial penalty of £154.

Seven crews had tackled the blaze at its height.

Nobody was reported to be injured.
