Woman suffers life-changing injuries in crash

A woman has been seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on the A38 in Devon.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the incident involving a grey Vauxhall Meriva and a cream Volvo Flat lorry was reported at about 15:00 GMT on Friday on the A38 in Kenn, near Exeter.

A spokesperson for the force said a woman in her 60s who was driving the Vauxhall was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with what were described as life-changing injuries.

Anyone with information about the crash including dashcam footage of the incident has been asked to contact investigating officers.

National Highways said the westbound side of the road was closed until 00:15 on Saturday while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Devon and Somerset Fire Service added crews from Danes Castle and Middlemoor attended the crash to help cut the injured woman out of her vehicle.
