Police said they later found the car abandoned

A man who abandoned his car after being caught driving at more than 110mph (177km/h) was located after he left a parcel with his name and address in the vehicle, police said.

Officers from the BCH Road Policing Unit said on X that the driver failed to stop for them on the M25 and had been using "false plates".

The car was later found abandoned.

"Suspect helpfully left us his name and address in the car on a parcel - Silly boy!", they wrote, adding that the car had been seized and "prosecution to follow".
