Police launch fresh appeal 12 years on from murder
A fresh appeal for information has been launched 12 years after the murder of a "hard-working and popular" doorman and taxi driver.
David "Les" Ross was beaten to death in a hotel room in Corby, Northamptonshire on 17 December 2012 just weeks after realising a dream of owning his own nightclub.
Despite more than a decade passing since his death and several arrests, the 39-year-old's killer has never been found.
But, according to the Northamptonshire Telegraph, officers have now been provided with the name of someone who may have information about the murder. Northamptonshire Police told the BBC it would not comment on suspects.
On the anniversary of his death, detectives are seeking information about the killer, how they gained entry to the room, how they travelled to and from the scene, and how they knew Mr Ross was there.
They would also like to establish who was responsible for a burglary carried out at the home of the "massive character" two days before his death.
"I am certain someone out there knows what happened to David," said Det Ch Insp Johnny Campbell.
"We don't need to know who you are, just what you know. Please think of David's family this Christmas and help us secure justice for him.
"His family have been in limbo for over a decade and we want to provide them with some much-needed answers and justice for their loved-one."
'Justice'
Mr Ross, who loved snooker, was a familiar face to those who enjoyed nights out in Corby and in late 2012 became a partner at the Rubix nightclub.
Within weeks his house was ransacked in a burglary and his dog was "practically kicked to death", leading to him to moving into the Village Inn Express hotel.
Following the murder he was found in boxer shorts and a vest with injuries to his face, chest and arms.
"We know allegiances and loyalties can change," added Det Ch Insp Campbell.
"I am asking anyone out there who may have information which could bring David's killer to justice to please contact us."
