Elderly woman in 'critical condition' after flat fire

An elderly woman is in a critical condition in hospital after she was rescued from a flat fire.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to the blaze in Shetland Close, Ipswich at 02:28 GMT.
The woman was led to safety and emergency workers performed first aid until the arrival of the ambulance service.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using hose reel jets extinguished the fire and an investigation has been launched to find the cause.

Three appliances attended – one from Ipswich East and two from Princes Street.
