Driver dies after car overturns on rural road

A driver has died after his car left a rural road and overturned, police say.

Emergency services were called to the A1095 Halesworth Road, near Reydon in Suffolk, at about 14:33 GMT on Saturday.

The car was discovered in water close to a sluice gate and the driver died at the scene, Suffolk Police said.

The road reopened at 06:15 on Sunday after a recovery operation.

Police, the fire service, ambulance crews and HM Coastguard attended the incident, with the road closed off between the A12 and Mardle Road.

Diversions were put in place.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and are asking any motorists with dashcam footage to get in touch.
