Library to relocate services during refurbishment
A library is set to have its services temporarily relocated while refurbishment works take place.
The project at Harwich Library would run from 26 September until summer 2025, Essex County Council said.
In the meantime, its services would be offered from Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre, in Main Road, Dovercourt.
The council said there would be a larger mezzanine floor with two adult learning classrooms once the work was completed.
They would offer support space for 40 people from Adult Community Learning Essex (ACL).
Further community spaces would also be available for residents to use.
The refurbishment scheme was planned as part of the Dovercourt Capital Regeneration Projects, led by the county council and Tendring District Council.
"As well as the Harwich Library refurbishment, the project will improve the highway between Dovercourt station and the seafront," a council spokesman said.
"Milton Road car park and derelict land in Victoria Street will also be developed."
