The first in a series of healthy living events is taking place in Hull next month.

Hull Royal Infirmary is hosting the Fit4Life event in the atrium of the new main entrance on 11 July.

Visitors will be able to talk to hospital staff about smoking cessation, lifestyle choices, alcohol moderation and cancer screening.

Doctors and nurses will also be able to offer advice to help people improve their health and fitness.

Amanda Stanford, acting group chief executive of NHS Humber Health Partnership, said the event aimed to empower people to make healthier choices.

"You'll learn about measures you can take right now that will make a big difference while accessing valuable resources and chatting to our health experts," she said.

Events are also due to take place over the coming months at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, Goole Hospital, Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby and Scunthorpe General Hospital.
