Visible police presence to remain in search for man
A visible police presence will remain in the Sunbury Lock area "for the rest of the week" as the search for a missing rower continues, said Surrey Police.
Five people were rescued by Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, the coastguard and police after a boat capsized in the River Thames on 11 October.
One rower, a man in his 60s, is still missing after entering the water near Wheatleys Eyot.
Police said his family are being supported by a specialist officer.
The search parameters have been extended due to the "fast-flowing" nature of the river.
Surrey Police has asked people not to share footage of the incident circulating on social media, to minimise distress to the man’s family, but they are asking for any footage to be sent to them directly.
