Child injured after metal projectile fired at car

Police are appealing for witnesses after a child was injured by a metal projectile fired at a car in Surrey.
Emergency services were called following a report of criminal damage and assault near the North Holmwood roundabout on the A24 in Dorking at about 15:45 GMT on Wednesday.
A metal projectile, potentially from a catapult, was fired at a car causing the rear window to shatter, police said.
A child sustained injuries which did not require hospital treatment.
Surrey Police's Safer Neighbourhood Team are patrolling the area as a result, said the force.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who was driving in the area at the time is urged to contact police.
