Man arrested following fatal street stabbing

A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, following a fatal stabbing last week.

The victim, John Donaldson, 34, was attacked outside a house in the Lealholm Walk area of Eston, near Middlesbrough at about 21:00 GMT on Thursday 21 November.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, but died a short time later.

The family of Mr Donaldson paid tribute to him, calling him "a very much loved son, brother, uncle, grandson and nephew".

The arrested man remains in police custody.
