Girl, 12, is third arrested over ex-Debenhams fire
A 12-year-old girl has become the third child to be arrested on suspicion of arson by police investigating a fire at a former Debenhams store.
The fire broke out in Guildhall Street, Canterbury, on Monday night, and led to 30 people being evacuated from nine nearby flats.
Kent Police said the girl was arrested on Wednesday evening and was later bailed pending further inquiries.
A 15-year-old boy, who was arrested on Tuesday, has been bailed pending further inquiries and a second boy aged 15, from Ashford, was released without charge.
Firefighting operations finished at the fire-ravaged building at 15:30 GMT on Wednesday.
At the height of the incident, eight fire engines and two height vehicles were deployed as well as the technical rescue unit.
One person was passed into the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service due to smoke inhalation.
Kent Police officers said they are keen to speak to anyone with relevant information who has not came forward yet.
