A man has been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnap after two men were injured in a crash involving an e-bike and a car.

It happened near the Cherford Road junction of Kinson Road, Bournemouth, on Thursday at about 13:10 BST. The car, a blue Mercedes, failed to stop at the scene.

The two injured men - in their 20s - were both believed to have been on the e-bike when the crash happened and remain in hospital. One suffered life-changing injuries while the other was less seriously hurt.

The charged man, who is 24 and from the town, has also been charged with two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, dangerous driving and possession of a bladed article.

He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates' Court.

A 17-year-old boy and a 36-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, along with a 37-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, all from Bournemouth, have been released on police bail.

A 48-year-old man from Bournemouth arrested on suspicion of intentionally encouraging or assisting the commission of an indictable only offence has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The force wants to hear from drivers with dashcam footage and residents with doorbell or CCTV footage to come forward.
