The River Adur has been issued one of four flood alerts in the South East on Sunday

Flood alerts have been issued in parts of West Sussex, East Sussex and Kent on Sunday as Storm Darragh continues across the UK.

The River Adur, Cuckmere River, Combe Haven, Powdermill and Watermill streams and the River Rother have all been put on alert.

The Environment Agency (EA) has said areas face up to 10mm of rainfall which could cause minor flooding.

The government body has asked residents in affected areas to be on alert until Tuesday.

In West Sussex, the River Adur may rise and cause low level flooding on the A281 at Mock Bridge, near Shermanbury.

Residents in the area may see some flooding in their gardens as well as open fields, the EA said.

The Cuckmere River and its tributaries may affect roads, gardens and fields in Mill Lane, Station Road, Church Lane and Church Road in Hellingly in East Sussex.

Minor flooding from the River Combe may affect a small amount of properties in Crowhurst.

In Kent, water levels remain high in the River Rother and its tributaries from Turks Bridge to the Royal Military Canal.

The EA has advised flooding is possible on low-lying land as more rain is forecast.
