Five people were taken to hospital after several vehicles crashed in the Dartford Crossing tunnel.

The ambulance service said it was called at 14:02 GMT and the northbound west tunnel of the A282 was closed.

At about 17:00, National Highways said it had reopened.

Long queues were reported on the approach to the tunnel, which links the Kent and Essex sections of the M25.
