Police believe Mr Roberts was walking from the Queen In The West pub in Moor Street in the direction of Carholme Road but do not know which route he took.

The force is asking residents in the West End area of the city to check CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage to see whether it captured the victim walking or interacting with someone.

In a second line of inquiry, officers are asking anyone with dashcam footage who was travelling along the A57 in the Saxilby area to check if they captured a white L-reg Mercedes X-Class pickup truck travelling in the Lincoln direction.

They are also keen to locate footage of the vehicle in the Carholme Road area.
