Plant machinery theft prompts £25,000 reward offer
A £25,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the recovery and sale of stolen plant machinery from a business park.
The appeal followed a theft between 18 October and 4 November at QC Polymer in Cannon Business Park, Bilston, a notice said.
Insolvency practitioners previously described how the entire contents of the recycling plant were stolen.
Valuers arrived at the unit on 6 November to prepare for a pre-auction viewing of its £1.3m equipment, only to find the building empty.
At the time, administrators Hudson Weir described the theft as “an extraordinary turn of events”, and West Midlands Police and the Serious Fraud Office were both investigating.
The plant, which went into administration on 29 October, was used to recycled plastic bottles.
An appeal by auctioneers and valuers GJ Wisdom & Co put up the £25,000 reward and also listed the missing items.
Any information received would be treated with complete confidentiality, the appeal said.
