Five people were taken to safety by helicopter while the others made their own way

Eight people have been rescued after they became cut off by the tide at Cleethorpes.

Five people were rescued by a coastguard helicopter and three others made their way to safety after they became stuck on the beach at 19:20 BST on Monday.

The rescue involved crews from HM Coastguard, Mablethorpe Inshore Lifeboat, Humber All Weather Lifeboat, and the Cleethorpes and Donna Nook Coastguard Rescue teams.

Nobody was injured in the incident.
