Section of A23 reopens after fuel spill

A section of the A23 has reopened in West Sussex after a fuel spillage on the carriageway closed the road for nearly 24 hours.
National Highways said it was carrying out resurfacing works on the northern carriageway near Pyecombe after a spillage shortly before 19:30 BST on Monday.
Surrounding roads including through Ditchling village and in Clayton Hill, near Hassocks, were affected by traffic caused by the closure and diversion routes.
National Highways have since confirmed that the road has reopened.
Sussex Police said it had assisted with traffic management on Monday evening but that no injuries had been reported and no arrests had been made.
