Severe gales lead to Isle of Man ferry and flight disruption
Severe gales brought by Storm Isha have led to disruption to ferry sailings and flights on the Isle of Man.
Sunday's crossings between Douglas and Heysham by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's flagship vessel the Manxman were cancelled.
Some flights between the island and Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, London and Dublin were also cancelled.
An amber weather warning for gusts of up to 80mph (129km/h) has been put in place until 02:00 GMT on Monday.
Police said a tree that came down in the blustery conditions near Sulby had now been cleared by the Department of Infrastructure, while Manx Utilities said its staff were assessing some overhead lines in Bride after a tree fell near the village's play area.
Civic amenity sites in the west, north and east of the island were closed for safety reasons because of the strong winds.
Ronaldsway Met Office has also issued an amber weather warning for coastal overtopping around the time of high tide at 20:20.
Forecasters said the winds would create large waves posing a "risk of significant debris around some exposed coastal roads and promenades".
Areas most likely to be affected were Shore Road in Rushen, Castletown Promenade, and the northern end of Douglas Promenade.
