Watch: Rider thrown from bike escapes serious injury
A speedway rider thrown from his bike and run over during a race has escaped serious injury.
Ipswich Witches rider Emil Sayfutdinov was taken to hospital on Thursday evening after the incident, which happened during the team's ROWE Motor Oil Premiership meeting at Sheffield Tigers.
He sustained a cut to his right buttock and remained in hospital awaiting surgery on the injury.
On Instagram, the 34-year-old said: "I would like to say thank you to all paramedics at the stadium and at the hospital."
