Repairs see trains disrupted after fire near track

Engineers are making repairs after a fire broke out near a railway track.

Network Rail said urgent work was taking place after a fire on Wednesday near London Road, Stevenage, caused "major disruption" on services run by Great Northern, LNER and Thameslink.

All services have advised commuters travelling on services going through Stevenage to avoid or delay travel but some tickets are being accepted on alternate routes and replacement busses are in place.

Lumo has also been affected but said services resumed after Network Rail engineers worked through the night.
