Infertility: I felt husband would be better off without me

Andrea Byrne has said she feared her husband would be "better off" without her during the couple's experience of infertility.

The ITV News presenter and her husband Lee Byrne, a former Wales rugby player, went through multiple rounds of IVF and considered surrogacy, during a seven-year struggle to conceive.

But in 2019, Byrne gave birth to their daughter Jemima, who "defied science" by being conceived naturally.

"You feel so guilty," recalled Byrne, who was told by doctors that she would likely never be able to carry her own pregnancy.

"I remember those feelings all the time of thinking [Lee] would be better off without me."
