Doctor taking on epic ironman triathlon challenge

A London doctor is nearing the end of an intense training regime as he prepares to take on seven ironman triathlons in seven days for charity.

Dr Rob Mitchell, 32, who is from Hampshire but now lives in Tooting, south London, is raising money for men's health charity Movember, and the DMRC Benevolent Fund, which helps injured servicemen and women.

An ironman triathlon consists of a 2.4 miles (3.8km) swim, a 112 miles (180.2km) bicycle ride and a 26.2 miles (42km) marathon, with Dr Mitchell hoping to complete seven of them over seven consecutive days, starting on 18 August.
