Ex-Welsh secretary 'fed up' with 'cheap populism'
Former Welsh Secretary Sir Robert Buckland says he’s “fed up” with Conservative strategy.
He became the first Tory to lose his seat on election night, as the results begin to come in from across the country.
The Llanelli-born MP, who had represented Swindon South since 2010, said the plan for national service was “totally oversold” and a “mistake”.
“The time has gone for cheap populism, if it ever existed,” he said.
