'Medics told me I had no reason to be suicidal'

Jessica Matthews says her diagnosis of borderline personality disorder led to her being stigmatised and mistreated in hospital.

Ms Matthews said she was labelled "the borderline patient", with medication withheld and medics ignoring her distress.

"They would say that I had no reason to be suicidal," she said.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg, who are now responsible for Ms Matthews' care, said: "We have worked closely with Jessica to learn from her experiences, as part of our commitment to continuous improvement in mental health services, both in our hospitals and in the community."
