Woman quits drink over death by Christmas fear

Jessie Hallett decided her drinking days were done after an 18-hour bender left her fearing she would die before Christmas.

The 29-year-old, from Cardiff, had returned from an event on Beaujolais Day in 2022 - a French celebration of wine popular in parts of Wales.

She had been on an 18-hour bender and anxiety was kicking in.

"If I hadn't given up drinking, I wouldn't have made it to Christmas," she said.
