King officially welcomed to Balmoral for start of summer holiday
King Charles has received an official welcome to Balmoral Castle as he begins his summer holiday.
During the small ceremony outside the Castle Gates, The King inspected a Guard of Honour formed of Balaklava Company, 5th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, under the command of Major Neil Cargill.
The Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland and the Pipes and Drums of The Royal Corps of Signals performed at the ceremony.
The Royal Regiment of Scotland’s mascot, Shetland pony Corporal Cruachan IV, was also present.
His Majesty and Queen Camilla are expected to stay at the Royal Deeside estate until October.
