Faith leaders say anti-racism protest 'brought us together'
A group of teachers and religious leaders met for the first time during a protest in Derby over a cup of tea.
The group - featuring priests, Muslim teachers and an atheist - met each other at the demonstration in Normanton, Derby, on Wednesday.
Anti-racism protesters gathered at a number of sites across the UK in response to alleged planned far-right demonstrations.
Reverend Andy Ward, from St Augustine's Church in Derby, said: "The real spirit of Normanton is here as everyone's out on the streets, enjoying the evening, chatting, building relationships over a cup of spiced tea. It's marvellous."
The group also gave a tongue-in-cheek "thank you" to far-right protesters for inadvertently helping to bring communities closer.
