Teenagers exposed to harmful content on social media
A BBC investigation has found young teenagers are being exposed to content about weapons, bullying, murder and suicide soon after joining social media platforms.
Journalists Andy Howard and Harriet Robinson, from BBC West, created six fictional profiles aged 13 to 15 years old on TikTok, YouTube and Instagram.
Watch as they explain the methodology behind the investigation and what they found.
Social media companies say they are taking the issue seriously and are working hard to remove harmful content.
