Pink sky: Why did the clouds above Wales change colour?
People across Wales looked to sky on Thursday and saw the usually grey clouds lit up with a pink glow.
Particles in the atmosphere can scatter sunlight, allowing us to see certain colours more vividly, explained BBC weather presenter Sabrina Lee.
"When it came to Thursday's sunset we had different levels of cloud in the atmosphere which was illuminated by the setting sun," she said.
"The sun was low in the sky, meaning the light had to travel further to reach us... [so] we were left with the redder end of the spectrum."
