When are the next bin strikes planned in Scotland?
Refuse workers from 20 of Scotland's 32 councils have been taking strike action in a row over pay.
Further strike dates are planned next week, when some school and nursery staff are also due to walk out. The action involves members of the Unite, Unison and GMB unions.
When are the next bin strike dates?
Refuse workers will strike between 6 to 13 September in 19 council areas:
- Aberdeenshire
- Aberdeen City
- Angus
- Dumfries and Galloway
- Dundee
- East Ayrshire
- East Dunbartonshire
- East Lothian
- East Renfrewshire
- Edinburgh
- Falkirk
- Fife
- Glasgow
- Highland
- Inverclyde
- North Ayrshire
- South Ayrshire
- South Lanarkshire
- West Lothian
Workers in a further six areas will take action between 7 and 10 September:
- Clackmannanshire
- Midlothian
- North Lanarkshire
- Orkney
- Perth and Kinross
- Stirling
Where will school and nursery staff strike?
Some staff in schools, nurseries and early years' centres are scheduled hold strikes between 6 and 8 September in:
- Aberdeenshire
- Clackmannanshire
- East Renfrewshire
- Glasgow City
- Inverclyde
- Orkney
- North Lanarkshire
- Stirling
- South Lanarkshire
There will be action between 7 and 9 September in three other areas:
- Angus
- Dundee
- Perth and Kinross
Where have strikes taken place so far?
Refuse workers are still taking action in 13 council areas, and Wednesday 31 August will be the final day of the strike. The areas affected are:
- Aberdeen

- East Ayrshire
- East Lothian
- East Renfrewshire
- Falkirk
- Glasgow
- Highland
- Inverclyde
- South Ayrshire
- South Lanarkshire
- West Lothian
East Lothian says it expects domestic bin collections to continue despite strike action because of the number of workers involved.
Strikes in eight other council areas have now ended. They are:

- Clackmannanshire
- Edinburgh

- Stirling
- Midlothian
- Orkney
- Perth and Kinross
