Brighton: Man convicted after crashing drone onto stage during concert
A man who crashed a drone at a concert on Brighton beach has been convicted in what police are describing as the first case of its kind.
Giles Dalby from Devonshire Place, Brighton, flew the drone over the beach concert in July 2022.
He lost control of the drone which then crashed into the stage, according to Sussex Police.
Footage showed the aircraft flying just over the heads of people in the audience during the event.
At Brighton Magistrates' Court, Dalby admitted recklessly or negligently causing or permitting an aircraft to endanger a person or property.
He was fined £576, with a £230 surcharge and £85 costs.
