Two people who were killed in a crash between an ambulance and a car last month have been named.

The collision happened on the B1506 between Kentford and Newmarket in Suffolk at 19:30 GMT on 19 December.

Suffolk Constabulary named the victims as Anthony Dawbarn, 93, from Newmarket, and Jane Blampied, 70, from Bury St Edmunds.

Mr Dawbarn was a passenger in the ambulance and Ms Blampied was driving the blue Volkswagen it collided with.

She was the only occupant of the car, but two other people in the ambulance - its female driver and a male passenger - sustained serious injuries and were taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the ambulance was now out of hospital, police said.

Officers are continuing to appeal for dashcam footage of the crash and have asked anyone with information to contact them on 101.
